Terms of Service
Last updated 5 September 2026
These terms govern your use of UsageBox, a usage metering and billing service operated from usagebox.com and api.usagebox.com. By creating an account or sending usage events to the API, you agree to them.
The service
UsageBox records usage events you send, resolves them against the product catalog you configure, and aggregates them into monthly rollups per meter and charge. You are responsible for the accuracy of the events you send and for the pricing configuration you build on top of them.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your API keys secret. A key grants full access to your account's data; rotate it immediately if it is exposed. You may not use the service to store data you have no right to process, or attempt to access another customer's account.
Plans, billing and limits
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Plan limits are published on the pricing page. We may change prices or limits with at least 30 days' notice by email; changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.
Subscribers who reach UsageBox through the RapidAPI marketplace are billed by RapidAPI under RapidAPI's terms, not these ones, for the metered calls they make through that gateway.
Availability
UsageBox is provided as-is, with no service level agreement. We do not promise a particular uptime, and we do not offer credits for downtime. If that is not acceptable for your use case, do not put UsageBox on a critical path — the API is designed so that metering can be asynchronous to your own request handling.
Your data
Your usage events and catalog remain yours. You can export raw events through the API at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and its data by emailing [email protected]. See the privacy policy for what we collect and how long we keep it.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or another customer, or that has not paid, and will tell you why by email. Export your data before you delete an account: deletion is not reversible.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, UsageBox's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost revenue from usage that was not recorded.
